| Course Description: |
This course was designed to give runners a hill-climb challenge and to test strength and endurance. The race starts on Highland St near Wilton Lnydeborough High School. It runs uphill for the first mile. At the first mile marker, the course flattens out as it turns onto Sand Hill Road (gravel) and remains flat for about one half mile. There will be a rolling uphill grade as Sand Hill road ends and merges onto Davisville Road (paved) through mile three. Next, the course turns left onto Burton Highway with gradual uphill and rolling terrain. At approximately 5.5 miles, there is steep 1/4 mile climb. The course bears left onto Webster Highway for 1.5 miles of relatively flat, rolling paved road. At mile 7, the course bears right onto Old Revolutionary Rd. (gravel) and goes uphill for one-half mile and flattens out for one-half mile. Just before mile 8 the course turns onto Rt. 101 (paved) and climbs a steep hill grade for 1/2 mile. The course becomes relatively flat for 2/10 mile as it passes Temple Mountains Ski Area. The last 1.3 miles of the course climb the paved switch-back road in Miller State Park to the summit of Pack Monadnock Mountain. The last 1.3 miles are as steep or steeper than Mt Washington. |

| Directions: | From Nashua (Exit 7 off Everett
Turnpike) Take Rt. 101 to Wilton NH. Turn onto Rt. 31. At the bottom of
the hill after the bridge, bear left up a steep hill to Wilton Lyndeborough
High School. Race official will assist you at parking but we would prefer
that you park near the finish at Temple Mountain where the post race food
and awards will be. Route 31 is .6 miles after the Wilton Town line sign on Route 101. The Wilton town line sign is near a Dam on the Souhegan River with some old mill buildings on the far bank. Temple Mt parking is 8.5 miles west of Route 101/ Route 31 turn to the start. Route 31 goes left off Route 101 about a mile north of the route 31 right turn off route 101. Ignore this left turn on to route 31 in all directions pertaining to this race. |
| Course Precautions: | The race course follows paved and gravel country roads with uneven surfaces and potholes. It is the runner's responsibility to exercise caution during this event. Also, there will likely be a 10-15 degree drop in temperature from the start to finish. Runners are advised to bring dry warm-up clothing to wear after the finish. Runner's gear will be transported to the finish line by an official vehicle. |
| Point to Point Logistics and Shuttle: |
Parking is available at the start at the High School and near the finish at the Temple Mountain Ski area which is across the highway from Miller State Park. The Temple Mt parking lot is at mile 8.7 on the course. The last 1.3 miles of the race is inside Miller State Park. After you finish you walk back down to the Temple Mt lot where the post race takes place. SOME shuttling will be provided by the race hosts before and after the race, BUT some runners will also need to plan their own logistics with self-shuttles with other runners. (or just get together ad hoc in the parking lot) IDEALLY, all the cars will be near the finish before the start of the race, though some after-race shuttling will be provide to the start for those that are chronically late arrivers. Note that we said SOME shuttling. |
